Book travel using Consolidated Travel Billing

If your company uses Consolidated Travel Billing, you can book travel without using a personal card.

Instead of paying for travel yourself, your booking is charged directly to your company’s Consolidated Travel Billing account.

This means:

  • You don’t need to use a personal card to pay for the booking.
  • Your company is billed directly for the trip.
  • Travel expenses are tracked through Expensify Travel.

Who can book travel using Consolidated Travel Billing

  • Members on a Workspace with Travel enabled.
  • Members on a Workspace with Consolidated Travel Billing enabled.

If you’re unsure whether Consolidated Travel Billing is available, contact your Workspace Admin.

How to book travel using Consolidated Travel Billing

  1. Click the navigation tabs (on the left on web, on the bottom on mobile).
  2. Select Travel.
  3. Click Book travel.
  4. Search for flights, hotels, rental cars or rail tickets.
  5. Select your preferred itinerary.
  6. Continue to checkout.
  7. In the Payment method section, select Expensify Travel Card.
  8. If a CVV is requested, click Go to wallet in the blue banner at the top of the page.
  9. Select Travel CVV.
  10. Click Reveal details.
  11. Copy the CVV.
  12. Return to checkout and enter the CVV to complete the booking.

What happens after you book travel using Consolidated Travel Billing

  • Your booking is confirmed through Expensify Travel.
  • The payment is charged to your company’s Consolidated Travel Billing account.
  • For flights and rail tickets, the expense and receipt are automatically added to your Expensify account.
  • For hotel and car bookings, upload the receipt after checkout or after returning the vehicle.
  • The charge appears in your company’s Consolidated Travel Billing statement

Why do I need a CVV when booking travel?

Consolidated Travel Billing uses a virtual card to pay for travel bookings. Some travel providers require a CVV to complete the transaction.

Do I need to use my personal card to pay for travel bookings?

No. Travel bookings made with Consolidated Travel Billing are charged directly to your company’s Consolidated Travel Billing account.

Why don’t I see Travel CVV?

You may not be travel-enabled, or your Workspace may not have Consolidated Travel Billing enabled. Contact your Workspace Admin if you’re unsure.
