Update Your Expensify Card Mailing Address
Update Your Expensify Card Details
This article explains how to update the personal details associated with your Expensify Visa® Commercial Card, including your name, phone number, and mailing address.
How to Update the Name on Your Expensify Card
The name on your Expensify Card is pulled from the legal name in your profile. To update your legal name:
- Choose Account in the navigation tabs (on the left on web, on the bottom on mobile).
- Select Profile.
- Under Private, select Legal name.
- Update your Legal first name and Legal last name.
- Click Save.
Your updated legal name will apply to your Expensify Card. To get a new physical card with the updated name embossed on it, request a replacement card.
How to Update the Phone Number Linked to Your Expensify Card
The phone number linked to your Expensify Card is used for 3D Secure (Verified by Visa) verification during certain online transactions. It is pulled from your profile.
- Choose Account in the navigation tabs (on the left on web, on the bottom on mobile).
- Select Profile.
- Under Private, select Phone number.
- Enter your updated phone number and click Save.
After updating, your new phone number will be used for future 3D Secure SMS verification codes.

How to Update Your Mailing Address Without Replacing Your Expensify Card
If your card hasn’t shipped yet and you only need to change the address on file:
- Go to Account > Wallet from the navigation tabs (on the left on web, and at the bottom on mobile).
- Locate your physical Expensify card and click Report card lost or damaged.
- Choose My card was damaged.
- Note: Even if you haven’t damaged the card, selecting that option allows you to update your address.
- Enter your updated address under Please confirm the mailing address for your new card and click Save.
- Instead of clicking Ship new card, click Back to save the new address.
Your address is now updated. If the card hasn’t shipped yet, it will automatically be sent to the new address.
How to Update Your Mailing Address and Request a New Expensify Card
If your card has already shipped to the wrong address:
- Go to Account > Wallet from the navigation tabs (on the left on web, and at the bottom on mobile).
- Locate your physical card and click Report card lost or damaged.
- Choose My card was lost or stolen.
- Enter your updated address under Please confirm the mailing address for your new card and click Save.
- Click Deactivate card to complete the card replacement process.
Your new Expensify Visa® Commercial Card will be shipped to your updated address and arrive in 3-5 business days.
FAQ
Can I update my Expensify Card mailing address without deactivating my current card?
Yes, but only if the card has not shipped yet.
If your card hasn’t shipped, you can update the mailing address during the replacement flow and click Back instead of shipping a new card. This updates the address without deactivating your current card.
If the card has already shipped, you’ll need to request a replacement card.
What happens when I report my Expensify Card as lost or stolen?
When you select My card was lost or stolen, your current card is immediately deactivated for security reasons.
A new Expensify Visa® Commercial Card will be issued and mailed to the address you confirm during the replacement process.
Why didn’t my updated legal name automatically change on my physical Expensify Card?
Updating your legal name in Account > Profile updates your account records, but it does not automatically reissue your physical Expensify Card.
To receive a card with your updated name embossed on it, you must request a replacement card from Account > Wallet.
