Why the DESK03 Error Happens in QuickBooks Web Connector

The DESK03 error occurs because QuickBooks Web Connector enforces a cooldown period between updates.

The delay is typically:

  • Three to five times the length of the previous run (sync or export).
  • Capped at a maximum of 60 minutes.

For example:

  • If the previous sync took five minutes, the next update may not start for 15 to 25 minutes.

This behavior is controlled by QuickBooks Web Connector, not Expensify.


How to Fix the DESK03 Error

In most cases, no action is required other than waiting.

If Auto-Run Is Enabled in QuickBooks Web Connector

  1. Wait for the next scheduled run.

  3. Retry the export or sync in Expensify.
