Syncing Expensify and Evernote

Important Notes

  • To get receipts from Evernote to Expensify place the receipts in your Expensify Notebook inside Evernote.

  • If your Expensify-Evernote connection isn’t working via Evernote Desktop, in Expensify go to Settings   > Connections >Resync
  • The Evernote-Expensify integration currently supports the following file formats: .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .pdf, and .txt. If you’d like to import HTML receipts into Expensify, we recommend sending these files to

Create your Evernote-Expensify Connection

Step 1: Go to Settings    > Connections. Click connect an Evernote account.

Step 3: Log in to Evernote.

Step 4: Click Authorize.

You are now connected to Evernote! Read below to see how to send receipts from Evernote to Expensify. 

Send Receipts from Evernote to Expensify

Once you have set up your Evernote connection in the manner described above, you will see a Notebook titled “Expensify” in Evernote. To send a receipt to Expensify simply place the receipt in your Expensify Notebook.

That’s it! That image will now appear in your receipts page on Expensify.
