Syncing Expensify and Evernote
To get receipts from Evernote to Expensify place the receipts in your Expensify Notebook inside Evernote and, if relevant, sync your Evernote client.
Expensify will import any new receipts once a day. If you want to manually import new receipts go to Personal Settings > Connection > Resync.
- If your Expensify-Evernote connection isn’t working via Evernote Desktop, in Expensify go to Personal Settings > Connections > Resync.
- The Evernote-Expensify integration currently supports the following file formats: .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .pdf, and .txt. If you’d like to import HTML receipts into Expensify, we recommend sending these files to email@example.com.
Create your Evernote-Expensify Connection
Step 1: Go to Personal Settings > Connections. Click connect an Evernote account.
Step 2: Click connect my accounts
Step 3: Log in to Evernote.
Step 4: Click Authorize.

Send Receipts from Evernote to Expensify
Once you have set up your Evernote connection in the manner described above, you will see a Notebook titled “Expensify” in Evernote. To send a receipt to Expensify simply place the receipt in your Expensify Notebook.
That’s it! That image will now appear in your receipts page on Expensify.
Automatically Export Reports to Evernote
Expensify can automatically export any of your reports once they become approved, closed, and reimbursed. This only affects reports where you are the submitter. To enable this first set up your Evernote connection, then go to Personal Settings > Connections, press the settings cog next to the Evernote connection, and enable the Automatically Export option and click Save.
